ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Nov. 13, 2000 -- Cybernet Systems today announced that UseYourHead (formerly known as HeadHunter), a software product that provides a new dimension in PC game play by allowing players to use head movements as input commands, is now available to consumers via Internet download at http://www.useyourheadsw.com. Based on Cybernet's patent-pending, gesture recognition and tracking technology, UseYourHead works in conjunction with a USB PC camera (such as cameras by 3Com and Intel) to detect players' head movements and translate them into game commands, augmenting mouse clicks and keystrokes. This gives players more freedom to focus on other keyboard and mouse commands as they maneuver through their favorite action, adventure, flight simulation, children's or shooter games.

"UseYourHead is a truly revolutionary concept in PC game enhancement software as it places a player more intimately in control of the game," noted Anthony J. Comazzi, Cybernet's vice president of business development and director of marketing for UseYourHead. "And because it works in conjunction with most popular games that accept keystrokes as commands, UseYourHead can be used with everything from an educational software game aimed at primary age children to flight simulation programs for the more sophisticated consumer."

"With the introduction of UseYourHead, Cybernet Systems has proven that gaming can be more than a completely sedentary experience," noted Tal Blevins, editor in chief at gaming website IGN PC, an online entertainment portal. "Tools like this are paving the way for the future of immersive gaming."

"Over 30 million households already enjoy playing games on their personal computers," noted Gerry Kaufhold, principal analyst with Cahners In-Stat Group, a high-tech market research firm based in Scottsdale, Ariz. "But the PC needs a more natural interface if it is to remain dominant against all the new game consoles that are being rolled out. UseYourHead provides a quantum leap forward, permitting gamers of all ages to literally 'look and click' to win the game. UseYourHead is an important innovation that will affect much more than games in the very near future."

UseYourHead was initially known as HeadHunter. During the product's beta testing phase, it proved to be compatible with a much broader range of PC games than its initial target market of first and third-person and shooter games. The product name was changed to UseYourHead in order to reflect its more widespread market appeal and its underlying technology. Beginning today, through a partnership with Get Software of San Carlos, Calif., UseYourHead is available for download at http://www.useyourheadsw.com at a price of $29.99. Get Software is a wholly owned subsidiary of Release Now, a leading commerce service provider for vendors of digital goods. The software will also be available in CD format in many of the major retail and computer outlets later this month, making it an affordable and timely holiday gift.
