Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer Effects: Series #10 In series 10 of my Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer tutorials, I have created 2 more effects that you can implement into your Style Layers palette to give your designs or text elements a new look quick and easy. The effects are named “Phantom’s Opera” and “Basketball.” These Style Layers will work well with either objects or text as the examples display. Detailed instructions have been added to help the user install and implement the Style Layers into their next Photoshop project. Have fun and enjoy the effects! Style effect #1: ![]() In the first example, the phrase “Phantom’s Opera” is created using the Mael font and the Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss, Gradient Overlay, Pattern Overlay and Stroke. The design works well for those looking to achieve a chiseled look to your designs. To achieve the pattern, the Bevel and Emboss>Texture>Coarse Weave pattern was used with Scale set to 43% and Depth set to 95%. Of course, you can change the Scale setting to a lower value for a smoother texture but I just felt that the 43% gave the best impression. The Bevel & Emboss is set to Pillow Emboss, Chisel Soft, 105% depth and the Coarse Weave texture to give that nice soft looking surface. To install the Style Layer effects into Adobe Photoshop (for Windows version although Mac version will be similar in location), you need to do the following steps: Step #1: After downloading the ZIP file containing the Photoshop .ASL file, extract the .ASL file using a program like WinZip. ![]() 1 2 Next [an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() |
