That is, simply getting the time with programmers and producers to make sure it's working the way I envisioned. Whenever that's happened, the results have been pretty good. But, many times, you left wanting a few more days! ![]() What is the biggest mistake a game composer can make? Thinking that your job is just a composer. Not taking the initiative about getting involved early, about fighting for proper implementation, about asking for money for sweetening musicians, about making sure that you are a producer as well as a composer. Believe me, composing is in some ways, a very small part of the job! Though, of course, the most important... What equipment do you use to compose for games? What hardware and software? I use a Mac G4 with Digital Performer software with a MOTU 2408 MkII I/O and Protools. And I have a PC running Gigastudio and various editing tools like Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge. I have an Akai Sampler I use for actual sampling and a Roland JV2080 filled with expansion cards, a Kurzweil PC88MX controller, a Trident Series 65 console and Genelec 1031A speakers.
